About The Position

The Licensed Mental Health Professional works in a correctional facility to ensure incarcerated patients receive appropriate mental health services and care. The role includes evaluating and triaging patients, providing therapeutic interventions and suicide-prevention support, and developing treatment plans. The professional monitors the clinical needs of patients on their caseload, coordinates care with prescribing providers, trains staff on mental health topics, and documents findings in accordance with company and facility policies.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or another related mental health discipline.
One or more years of experience in a mental health treatment program.
Unrestricted, current license in the state of practice, such as LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LMHC, or Psychologist.
Maintain all licensures, certifications, and continuing education requirements.
Must reside in the United States.

Experience in a correctional or hospital setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

Conduct screening, assessments, and triages for inmates referred by security, healthcare staff, and other community sources, and recommend appropriate levels of care.
Develop and recommend treatment plans; provide psychoeducational and transitional groups and suicide-prevention interventions and management techniques.
Respond to sick call requests, support medication adherence, and coordinate with prescribing providers for medication evaluations.
Provide crisis intervention, oversee the clinical needs of patients on the caseload, and participate in multidisciplinary treatment-team and administrative meetings.
Train staff on relevant mental health topics.
Document findings in patients’ health records and ensure compliance with facility and company policies and procedures.
