About The Position

The Licensed Mental Health Professional provides mental health services to inmates in a correctional facility. The role includes conducting intake evaluations and assessments, providing therapeutic interventions and suicide prevention services, developing treatment plans, and monitoring the clinical needs of patients on the caseload. The professional also responds to sick call requests, supports medication adherence, coordinates medication evaluations with prescribing providers, and participates in multidisciplinary treatment and administrative meetings. The role includes training staff on mental health topics and documenting findings in accordance with facility and company policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or another related mental health discipline.
• One or more years of experience in a mental health treatment program.
• Unrestricted, current license in the state of practice, such as LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LMHC, or Psychologist.
• Maintain all required licensures, certifications, and continuing education requirements.
• Must reside in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Conduct screening, assessments, and triages for inmates referred by security, healthcare staff, and other community sources, and recommend an appropriate level of care.
• Develop and recommend treatment plans and provide treatment services, including psychoeducational and transitional groups.
• Provide suicide prevention interventions and management techniques.
• Respond to sick call requests, support medication adherence, and coordinate medication evaluations with prescribing providers.
• Provide crisis intervention and oversee the clinical needs of patients on the caseload.
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and administrative meetings.
• Train staff on relevant mental health topics.
• Document findings in the patient's health record and ensure compliance with facility and company policies and procedures.
