About The Position
The Licensed Mental Health Professional will deliver mental health services to patients in a correctional healthcare setting, including assessments, therapy, and treatment planning for individuals with mental health disorders. The role ensures evidence-based care, maintains accurate patient records, and collaborates with medical and clinical staff to provide comprehensive patient care. The provider also helps ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies. The position is based on-site at Rockbridge Regional Jail in Lexington, Virginia, with 18 hours on-site and 8 hours of telehealth work.
Requirements
- Current, valid Virginia Licensed Mental Health Professional credential.
- Active CPR/BLS certificate meeting American Heart Association or American Red Cross guideline approval.
- 1–3 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, adhere to protocols, and deliver high-quality service in a fast-paced, structured environment.
Nice To Haves
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in healthcare, nursing, or a related field; preferred but not required.
- Experience in correctional healthcare or a similar environment.
- Experience involving direct patient care or administrative support in a regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures as they relate to the correctional setting.
