About The Position
The Licensed Mental Health Professional (LPC or LCSW) delivers mental health services to patients in a correctional healthcare setting at Piedmont Regional Jail. Services include assessments, therapy, and treatment planning for individuals with mental health disorders. The role provides evidence-based care, maintains accurate patient records, and collaborates with medical and clinical staff to support comprehensive patient care. The provider also ensures compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies. This is a PRN/as-needed MEDIKO employee position.
Requirements
- Current, valid Virginia state licensure, certificate, and/or credentials documenting the ability to practice as an LMHP.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1–3 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
- Active CPR/BLS certificate approved under American Heart Association or American Red Cross guidelines.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, adhere to protocols, and deliver high-quality service in a fast-paced, structured environment.
Nice To Haves
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in healthcare, nursing, or a related field; preferred but not required.
- Experience in correctional healthcare or a similar environment.
- Experience in roles involving direct patient care or administrative support in a regulated environment.
- Understanding of healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures as they relate to correctional settings.
