About The Position

The Licensed Mental Health Professional works in a correctional facility to ensure inmates receive appropriate mental health services and care. The role includes conducting intake evaluations and screenings, providing therapeutic interventions and suicide prevention, developing treatment plans, monitoring the clinical needs of patients on a caseload, training staff on mental health topics, and documenting findings in accordance with company and facility policies.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or another related mental health discipline.
One or more years of experience in a mental health treatment program.
Unrestricted, current license in the state of practice, such as LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LMHC, or Psychologist.
Maintain all licensures, certifications, and continuing education requirements.
Must reside in the United States.

Experience in a correctional or hospital setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

Conduct screenings, assessments, and triage for inmates referred by security, healthcare staff, and other community sources, and recommend an appropriate level of care.
Develop and recommend treatment plans; provide psychoeducational and transitional groups, suicide prevention interventions, and management techniques.
Respond to sick call requests, support medication adherence, and coordinate with prescribing providers for medication evaluations.
Provide crisis intervention and oversee the clinical needs of patients on the caseload.
Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and administrative meetings.
Provide staff training on relevant mental health topics.
Document findings in patients’ health records and comply with facility and company policies and procedures.
