About The Position

The Licensed Mental Health Professional provides mental health services to inmates in a correctional facility at LaSalle County Jail. The role includes screening and assessment, treatment planning and interventions, crisis response, suicide prevention, medication-adherence support, and monitoring the clinical needs of patients on a caseload. The professional also provides staff training, participates in multidisciplinary and administrative meetings, and maintains health-record documentation in accordance with facility and company policies. This is a part-time position for 24 hours per week.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or another related mental health discipline.
At least one year of experience in a mental health treatment program.
Unrestricted, current license in the state of practice, such as LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LMHC, or Psychologist.
Maintain all licensures, certifications, and continuing-education requirements.
Must reside in the United States.

Experience in a correctional or hospital setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

Conduct screening, assessments, and triages for inmates referred by security, healthcare staff, and other community sources, and recommend an appropriate level of care.
Develop and recommend treatment plans; conduct treatment services such as psychoeducational and transitional groups; and provide suicide-prevention interventions and management techniques.
Respond to sick-call requests, support medication adherence, and coordinate with prescribing providers for medication evaluations.
Provide crisis intervention and oversee the clinical needs of patients on the caseload.
Participate in multidisciplinary treatment-team and administrative meetings.
Provide staff training on relevant mental health topics.
Document findings in patient health records and ensure compliance with facility and company policies and procedures.
