About The Position

The Liability Claims Specialist manages non-complex and non-problematic liability claims under the direct supervision of a senior claims professional, with the goal of achieving optimal outcomes for CorVel and its clients. The role handles litigated files with delegated limited authority and follows company best practices. The position is remote, with the employee physically located in the Eastern or Central Time zone.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience with Auto and General/Premises Liability.
Active Home State/Designated Home State adjuster license.
Current adjuster’s license in the state of operation.
Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and related experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to learn rapidly and develop knowledge and understanding of claims practice.
Ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems.
Computer proficiency and technical aptitude, including ability to use Microsoft Office and Excel spreadsheets.
Strong interpersonal, time-management, and organizational skills.
Ability to meet or exceed performance expectations.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Nice To Haves

Multi-State license is preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage non-complex, non-problematic medical-only claims and minor lost-time liability claims under close supervision.
Receive claims, confirm policy coverage, and acknowledge claims.
Determine claim validity and compensability.
Establish reserves and authorize payments within reserving authority limits.
Communicate claim status to customers, claimants, and clients.
Follow client and carrier guidelines and participate in claims reviews as needed.
Collaborate with team members on more complex or problematic claims as necessary.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
