About The Position

The Liability Claims Specialist manages non-complex and non-problematic liability claims under the direct supervision of a senior claims professional. The role handles litigated files with delegated limited authority and follows company best practices, with the aim of achieving optimal outcomes for CorVel and its clients. The role manages medical-only claims and minor lost-time liability claims under close supervision. It is available in remote, onsite, or hybrid work arrangements.

Requirements

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to learn rapidly and develop knowledge and understanding of claims practice.
Ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems.
Computer proficiency and technical aptitude, including the ability to use Microsoft Office and Excel spreadsheets.
Strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
Ability to meet or exceed performance expectations.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Minimum of 1 year of industry experience; claims management experience is preferred.
Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and related experience.
Current Adjuster’s License in the state of operation is required.

Nice To Haves

Claims management experience.
Multi-State adjuster license.

Responsibilities

Manage non-complex and non-problematic medical-only claims and minor lost-time liability claims under close supervision.
Receive claims, confirm policy coverage, and acknowledge claims.
Determine the validity and compensability of claims.
Establish reserves and authorize payments within reserving authority limits.
Communicate claim status with the customer, claimant, and client.
Adhere to client and carrier guidelines and participate in claims reviews as needed.
Collaborate with team members on more complex or problematic claims as necessary.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
