About The Position

The Level 1 Assistant Manager is responsible for everything that happens during their shift, including cost, inventory, and cash controls and customer relations. The assistant manager sets an example for the crew, follows all company policies and procedures, and expects the same from team members. The role requires judgment, math skills, multitasking, and a willingness to perform any job necessary. This is an active, hands-on store position. General store duties include operating equipment; stocking ingredients; preparing products; receiving and processing telephone orders; taking inventory and completing paperwork; and cleaning equipment and the facility. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. All scheduled hours depend on the employee’s availability and store needs. The posting states that all positions are part-time unless otherwise stated, with the possibility of working into full-time if store hours allow and the employee completes training, is reliable for shifts, and communicates full-time availability to the manager. The work involves standing or walking for most of the shift, frequent reaching and hand use, and occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, bending, and crouching. Conditions may include adverse weather, varying temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped spaces, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Assistant managers may also need to navigate stairs or ladders and use store equipment and tools. Assistant manager pay ranges from $16.30 to $18.56, with raises given after training evaluations are completed by the team member and manager. Monthly bonuses may be offered when criteria and responsibilities are met, but are not guaranteed. Medical, dental, and vision insurance are available to employees who have worked at least one year and average at least 32 hours per week. Sick pay follows Oregon and Washington state requirements. The company describes opportunities for advancement from assistant manager to general manager and beyond.
