About The Position

Guitar Center’s Lessons Associate helps create a positive experience for customers and students by selling lesson and rehearsal packages, answering questions, and providing tours of the Lessons facility. The role supports Guitar Center’s mission to nurture lifelong musicians and help people experience the joy of creating music. Successful associates work collaboratively, focus on customers, communicate clearly and courteously with diverse people, and use strong organizational skills to manage tasks and details in a fast-paced, high-urgency environment.

The Lessons Associate helps grow the lesson program, maintains curriculum sales information, and supports students by adapting lesson pacing to their needs and providing positive reinforcement. Rehearsal-space sales apply where available. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 5 lbs.
• Able to collaborate, build teamwork, and develop good working relationships.
• Able to provide excellent customer service and connect meaningfully with customers.
• Able to communicate clearly, positively, and courteously in writing and verbally with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
• Able to organize time, energy, and resources; multitask; pay close attention to detail; and complete tasks thoroughly and promptly in a fast-paced, high-urgency environment.

Responsibilities

• Increase student enrollment in the lesson program by maintaining professional instruction and appearance to encourage retention and student or parent recommendations.
• Sell lesson packages and rehearsal space, where applicable, to prospective students.
• Maintain curriculum sales information.
• Provide a positive student experience by accommodating lesson pacing to students’ needs and providing positive reinforcement.
• Assist customers with questions and provide tours of the Lessons facility.
• Handle customer-service issues as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
