About The Position

Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Lending Administration, the Lending Administrator works as part of a team responsible for providing loan administration support to the Advice & Service Delivery teams. This role contributes to the department by completing various functions related to processing mortgage, loan, and line of credit applications, including set-up and funding, internal risk controls, account maintenance, and branch support for lending facilities. This is a 12-month term position.

Requirements

  • Minimum grade 12 diploma
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience, preferably in a financial institution or office environment.
  • Strong analytical and decision making skills
  • Problem-solving capabilities
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of credit union banking system
  • Sales and service skills
  • Credit administration skills
  • Knowledge of Credit Union philosophy and principles, legislation, regulations, policies and procedures

  • Higher education relating to business administration, or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Providing administrative support to the Advice & Service Delivery teams, including managing follow-up requirements for credit files, collateral registration & discharges, set-up and maintenance of payments, and processing & preparing renewals.
  • Resolving routine problems to ensure the needs of members, staff, and the Credit Union are met.
  • Providing quality service to branch teams and borrowing members.
  • Adhering to all Credit Union policies and procedures, ensuring appropriate internal control procedures are followed and reporting on all required procedures.
  • Staying abreast of all functional processes and procedures to facilitate quality and seamless delivery of sales and service to members.
  • Assisting in the management of credit files through their life-cycle efficiently, accurately, and safeguarding the credit union from undue risk.
  • Contributing to overall department objectives and actively participating in team efforts to meet service standard commitments and improve efficiencies, including participation in Kaizens and other departmental initiatives.
  • Demonstrating support for workplace diversity and respectful workplace initiatives.

  • Keeping strictly confidential the affairs of anyone whose private information becomes available in the course of their duties.
  • Working towards the achievement of meeting standard service agreements to drive a positive member experience.
  • Completing accurate and efficient administration on both commercial and consumer lending transactions, including acting as a liaison with lawyers on solicitor instructions and collateral documentation, managing member property tax accounts, completing funding of credit facilities, performing routine verifications and review of banking system generated reports, monitoring and reconciling lending related internal accounts and GLs, registering collateral security, ensuring related tasks are completed, processing maintenance transaction requests, producing Mortgage Renewal documents, monitoring Personal Property Registry collateral security expiries, and conducting searches and completing follow-up relating to file perfection and fire insurance renewals.
