KIP Spring 2027 - Legislative Intern - Citizens Against Government Waste

Stand Together•Washington, DC
•$5,500 - $7,500

About The Position

The Koch Internship Program (KIP) is a paid experiential learning program run by Stand Together Fellowships. It offers professional development, leadership training, and meaningful work experience at nonprofit organizations addressing policy challenges across the United States. Early-career professionals, including undergraduate, graduate, and law students and recent graduates, are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be located in and authorized to work in the United States throughout the program. Candidates interview with both partner organizations and Stand Together Fellowships staff. Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) offers research, communications, and government affairs internships throughout the year. Internships may last from a few weeks to a semester, and interns may work part-time or full-time with flexible hours. Interns gain exposure to CAGW’s work with Capitol Hill, the White House, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations. Because CAGW has a small staff, interns receive hands-on experience, work closely with staff or independently, participate in staff meetings and events, and perform substantive work as well as occasional clerical duties. The Legislative Intern assists CAGW’s policy staff with legislative-process work, including monitoring hearings, summarizing committee testimony and votes, tracking legislation and related political activity concerning government waste, researching and developing legislative summaries, and attending coalition meetings.
