The Koch Internship Program (KIP) is a paid experiential learning program run by Stand Together Fellowships. It provides professional development, leadership training, and work experience at nonprofit organizations. Eligible applicants are early-career professionals, including undergraduate, graduate, and law students and recent graduates, who are located in and authorized to work in the United States for the duration of the program. Successful candidates interview with both partner organizations and Stand Together Fellowships staff, and applicants are encouraged to begin the admissions process early. Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) provides interns with hands-on experience across its activities and exposure to work involving Capitol Hill, the White House, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations. Interns work with staff on projects, participate in staff meetings and other events, and may also perform clerical duties. The Communications/Media Intern assists CAGW’s communications director with press and public information requests, media outreach, social media, press releases, media lists and databases, and communications with media professionals. The partner organization describes its internships as available on a year-round basis and varying in duration. Work can be part-time or full-time, with flexible hours. For this KIP program, participants receive a stipend of $7,500 for full-time participation of approximately 32 hours per week at the partner organization, or $5,500 for part-time participation of approximately 24 hours per week. Participation in all online and on-site KIP programming is required for both schedules.
