About The Position

Cascade Asset Management Company is seeking a Legal Operations Analyst to design, maintain, and enhance systems and tools supporting legal operations. This role emphasizes data integrity, analytics, reporting, automation, generative AI, and process optimization. The analyst will support the legal and regulatory team's work across trading, transactions, risk, assurance, and compliance for a diverse portfolio. This position requires a blend of legal workflow understanding and technical proficiency, particularly with Power BI and AI tools. The analyst will develop and manage workflows, legal datasets, and scalable solutions to improve efficiency and support legal and compliance efforts, collaborating with legal, technology, and investment operations teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with strong academic credentials in a relevant field (e.g., pre-law, business analytics, computer science, or similar).
  • Three to six years of experience in legal operations, legal technology, compliance operations, or a comparable analytical role, with direct exposure to legal or compliance workflows.
  • Strong Power BI skills preferred, including data modeling, DAX, and dashboard design.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Hands-on familiarity with Smartsheet.
  • Familiarity with data security, information governance, and compliance considerations for AI and legal technology is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and process improvement skills; ability to work with complex data and systems.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to present confidently and to lead demonstrations and training sessions for groups.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment with internal and external contacts at all levels, establishing credibility with senior stakeholders and translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to take a problem and run with it, applying genuine curiosity and practical judgment to make reasonable calls with sometimes imperfect information, while seeking guidance when required and escalating things that genuinely need escalating.
  • Ability to stay with hard problems, finding a third approach when the first two fail rather than handing the problem back.
  • Commitment to meeting dates and flagging slippage early when a date is at risk.
  • Seeking out direct feedback and acting on it quickly.
  • Comfort working without a detailed roadmap in an environment where priorities shift.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SQL and Power Apps is a strong plus.
  • Experience with legal tools, such as GC AI, Harvey, Legora, CoCounsel, or comparable is a strong plus.
  • Hands-on experience with AI tools along with a demonstrated appetite for experimentation, and a practical understanding of where these tools succeed and where they fail.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, data models, and reporting for legal, compliance, and risk and assurance data.
  • Oversee systems and processes for legal data and workflows, including knowledge management, trade support, regulatory compliance, employee trading, vendor contracts, enterprise risk management, and assurance.
  • Administer, populate, and report from multiple databases capturing information about legal entities, investments, trading restrictions, counterparties, and workflows.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and propose and implement scalable, tech-enabled solutions; own and evolve workflows.
  • Maintain dynamic risk assessment frameworks and tools for risk reviews, assurance activities, and leadership reports.
  • Research and evaluate emerging AI tools relevant to legal and compliance functions, providing recommendations and designing implementation plans.
  • Configure and maintain AI capabilities such as review playbooks, custom skills and prompts, and contract intelligence repositories, testing and iterating on outputs.
  • Stay current on legal tech and AI trends to inform system enhancements and innovation opportunities.
  • Drive adoption of legal technology and AI through demonstrations, user guides, and feedback loops, tracking adoption and outcomes.
