Legal Innovation Advisor- Corporates

Thomson Reuters•Frisco, NY

About The Position

Thomson Reuters is building a senior advisory function serving its most strategic corporate accounts. The Legal Innovation Advisor is a client-facing role at the intersection of AI strategy, technology transformation, and in-house professional services. The advisor engages senior corporate department leaders to help them consider how AI may change the operation of legal, tax, and compliance functions, and works across the client lifecycle—from pre-sale through post-sale—to position Thomson Reuters as a strategic partner. The role focuses on executive relationships and strategic counsel, rather than product demonstrations or adoption metrics. Candidates may come from senior roles in corporate legal or tax departments, law firms with substantial corporate practices, or accounting and advisory organizations. The advisor serves a portfolio of strategic corporate accounts and partners with account executives and internal client-facing teams. The role also develops a perspective on AI’s impact on in-house legal and tax functions, shares executive-level customer insights with Thomson Reuters product and business leadership, and represents the company at senior industry forums and client events.

Requirements

  • 10–20 years of career experience, including meaningful time in an organization resembling the clients served.
  • Background as a senior technology, legal operations, innovation, or transformation leader inside a major corporation, law firm, or professional services organization.
  • Practical understanding of corporate decision-making, including how to build support across legal, finance, IT, and business leadership, and where technology transformation can stall.
  • A perspective on how AI affects in-house legal and tax staffing, vendor strategy, compliance obligations, and service delivery, developed through direct experience.
  • Familiarity with Thomson Reuters products, including CoCounsel, Practical Law, Westlaw, and HighQ, and their place in an enterprise technology environment.
  • Ability to engage credibly with department leadership without a commercial agenda; the role does not carry a quota, though relationships influence retention and growth.
  • Executive communication skills, including effectiveness with a skeptical General Counsel and in governance or technology committee settings.
  • Collaborative approach and ability to work alongside CSMs, Solutions Consultants, AI Solutions Architects, Forward Deployed Engineers, and Professional Services.
