Legal Engineer Associate
About The Position
This role sits at the intersection of law, technology, and product, offering hands-on experience with AI in the legal industry. The Legal Engineer Associate contributes to the development, testing, and adoption of Legora’s platform while working closely with Legal Engineers, Customer Success, Product teams, and clients. The position supports client-facing pilots, onboarding, and training; designs and evaluates AI use cases for legal tasks; communicates user insights to product teams; and helps document scalable deployment practices for legal AI. The role is based in an in-person Chicago office.
Requirements
- Completed J.D. required.
- At least 0 years of experience; trainees and paralegals are considered.
- Interest in law and willingness to engage with AI, product features, and workflow automation.
- Willingness to experiment with prompt engineering; coding is not required.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly between lawyers and technologists.
- Analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to evaluate AI outputs and identify where they meet or miss expectations.
- Adaptable and proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment and bringing structure to ambiguity.
Responsibilities
- Support client-facing pilots, onboarding, and training to help legal teams get the most out of Legora.
- Design and evaluate use cases demonstrating AI on legal tasks such as contract review, research, and drafting.
- Capture user insights and translate them into clear, actionable feedback for product improvements.
- Document best practices and contribute to internal playbooks for deploying legal AI at scale.
