About The Position

Carta is hiring a Legal Director for its Carta Law Contracts team, within the Contracts – North Americas function. The team manages the full lifecycle of commercial contracts for clients, from initial review through execution, serving sophisticated investment fund and asset manager clients. It handles high volumes of pre-M&A contract work at speed, supported by AI-backed tools. The Legal Director leads a group of client accounts and the lawyers who serve them, and is accountable for the quality, speed, and growth of that portfolio. The role focuses on oversight and leadership rather than hands-on contract delivery. It includes responsibility for client service and escalations, account performance and revenue, team resourcing and development, sales support, and adoption of technology and automation. The position reports to the Regional Managing Director and is based in one of Carta’s Canadian or US offices. Carta describes itself as a connected platform and AI-native ecosystem for private capital, bringing together software, services, and legal infrastructure for founders, fund managers, and legal teams. Its platform serves 55,000 companies and more than 1.8 million equity holders in 160+ countries, and 10,000 funds and SPVs representing more than $250 billion in assets under management.
