About The Position
For 90 years, Berkheimer Tax Innovations has supported communities across Pennsylvania through reliable tax collection and related services. Serving more than 2,600 clients statewide, we’re proud to be the state’s largest tax collector. We are currently seeking a Legal Clerk to join our team in our Bangor, PA office. Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 1 - 2 years of related experience and/or training; or Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license & clean driving record
- Strong attention to detail with high levels of accuracy
- Proficiency with computers and the ability to learn new systems
- Situation analysis and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
- Manage inquiries related to delinquent and legal accounts via phone, email, and fax
- Research, update, and maintain accounts involving bankruptcy, liens, and legal actions
- Prepare and file legal documents with courts and government offices
- Monitor legal processes (e.g., sheriff sales, complaints) and ensure accurate recordkeeping
- Respond to account issues, complaints, and perform routine account maintenance
- Travel to and attend magistrate hearings on behalf of the company
