Serving more than 2,600 clients statewide, we’re proud to be the state’s largest tax collector. We are currently seeking a Legal Clerk to join our team in our Bangor, PA office. As a Legal Clerk, you will act as an integral part of the Delinquent Department’s team. To be successful in the role, you must be a detail-oriented, organized professional with strong research and communication skills who can manage legal processes, handle sensitive account issues, and stay accurate under pressure.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 1 - 2 years of related experience and/or training; or Equivalent combination of education and experience
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license & clean driving record
Strong attention to detail with high levels of accuracy
Proficiency with computers and the ability to learn new systems
Situation analysis and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

Manage inquiries related to delinquent and legal accounts via phone, email, and fax
Research, update, and maintain accounts involving bankruptcy, liens, and legal actions
Prepare and file legal documents with courts and government offices
Monitor legal processes (e.g., sheriff sales, complaints) and ensure accurate recordkeeping
Respond to account issues, complaints, and perform routine account maintenance
Travel to and attend magistrate hearings on behalf of the company
