About The Position

GC AI is hiring a hands-on Legal & Business Operations Analyst to improve operations across Legal, company-wide business operations, and IT. The role focuses on turning unclear or repetitive processes into structured, scalable systems. The analyst will report to the Manager, Legal Ops & Compliance. Leveling will reflect the scope and ownership of prior work rather than years of experience alone. In Legal Operations, the analyst will improve Legal’s use of GC AI by building and maintaining scalable workflows, support legal technology, vendors, and outside counsel, and develop reporting on how legal work moves and where it can be improved. In Business Operations, the analyst will own Notion and the company’s knowledge-management system, improve cross-company processes, create forms and automations, and project-manage selected initiatives. In IT Operations, the analyst will direct the day-to-day work of an external IT team, coordinate selected projects, partner with Engineering, Security, and People, and maintain clear IT processes and documentation. The role is based in Chicago or New York City and follows a hybrid schedule. GC AI is a distributed company, currently hiring across the United States and Canada. Team members outside office locations may travel up to 10%; San Francisco Bay Area and Provo team members within 50 miles of the office work together Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Requirements

1–3 years of experience in legal operations, business operations, or program coordination.
Experience owning a recurring process or project from beginning to end and explaining what improved.
Experience building forms, automations, templates, dashboards, or knowledge systems, rather than only using systems built by others.
Comfort working with SaaS tools, permissions, integrations, provisioning, and operational workflows.
Ability to coordinate external service providers and internal stakeholders without formal authority.
Ability to manage timelines, owners, dependencies, and follow-ups so important work does not fall through the cracks.
Clear writing skills and ability to make complex processes understandable and easy to follow.
Sound judgment about what can be resolved independently and what requires immediate escalation.
Daily use of AI tools, including testing their outputs and iterating rather than accepting the first answer.
Habit of documenting and templatizing recurring work.
Strong attention to detail, including catching errors, protecting sensitive information, and closing loops.
Ability to work with ambiguity and create structure without waiting for a complete playbook.

Responsibilities

Improve Legal’s use of GC AI by building, maintaining, and moving repetitive work into scalable workflows.
Support Legal’s technology, vendor, and outside-counsel portfolio by tracking owners, spend, renewals, deadlines, and overlapping tools.
Build reporting that shows how Legal work moves, where requests stall, and which improvements have the greatest impact; collaborate with the product team to improve GC AI.
Own Notion and the company’s internal knowledge-management system, including structures, permissions, and keeping important content current.
Improve company-wide processes involving vendors, procurement, onboarding, shared systems, and cross-functional handoffs.
Build forms, templates, automations, and lightweight workflows to make recurring work faster and more consistent.
Project-manage selected cross-functional initiatives involving departments across the company.
Direct the day-to-day work of the external IT team by setting priorities, tracking open items, and ensuring follow-through.
Coordinate selected IT projects and operational improvements based on company priorities.
Partner with Engineering, Security, and People on projects involving access, systems, integrations, devices, and employee lifecycle changes.
Maintain clear IT processes, documentation, project plans, and escalation paths so employees know where to go for help.
