About The Position

The State Attorney's Office, 15th Judicial Circuit, is currently accepting applications for a LEGAL ASSISTANT I. This position is responsible for a wide variety of office duties including: maintaining files, setting meetings, processing a high volume of mail, and addressing any attorney requests. Applicants should possess knowledge of legal terminology and be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. An applicant must be detail oriented and able to prioritize tasks, work under pressure and adapt to changing situations as well as exhibit a willingness to perform other tasks as assigned. The successful candidate will be ready to work as part of a team and also be capable of independent judgment.

Requirements

  • Standard high school diploma or equivalency
  • 2 years secretarial experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Knowledge of legal terminology
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations
  • Willingness to perform other tasks as assigned
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Capable of independent judgment
  • Valid Florida driver’s license
  • Demonstrate the ability to type and enter data accurately
  • Must pass background records check and fingerprinting
  • Complete the Form I-9 and have information verified using the E-Verify system
