About The Position

The State Attorney's Office, First Judicial Circuit is looking to hire a Legal Assistant I for their Felony Division in Pensacola, FL (Escambia). This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Legal Assistants will be responsible for performing a variety of secretarial and clerical duties in assisting Assistant State Attorneys with routine and detailed tasks. Duties involve the performance of secretarial and clerical tasks related to criminal court proceedings, setting up and maintaining attorney calendars, document management, pulling files for the daily court calendar, and making travel arrangements. Duties also involve screening calls, providing information to the general public, some courtroom attendance, reviewing files, and preparing the appropriate motions and orders.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalency.
  • Two years of secretarial or clerical experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Professional demeanor.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Office experience.
  • Keyboarding skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Highly motivated.
  • Extremely organized.
  • Ability to handle confidential matters with the utmost discretion.
