About The Position

Aspen Careers is partnering with a respected, full-service law firm to identify an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant for its growing Chicago, Illinois office. This is an excellent opportunity for a legal administrative professional with experience supporting corporate and intellectual property matters to join a sophisticated, team-oriented environment and work closely with attorneys, clients, and other legal professionals. The role involves supporting attorneys handling a mix of corporate and intellectual property matters, gaining exposure to patent and trademark prosecution, portfolio management, and transactional legal work. Responsibilities include assisting with USPTO-related filings, correspondence, recordation matters, and supporting documentation, as well as working directly with clients, inventors, foreign associates, and vendors. Administrative duties encompass managing calendars, client files, billing, timekeeping, expense reports, correspondence, and travel arrangements. The position is within a growing Chicago office of a well-established, full-service law firm, emphasizing organization, client service, and teamwork.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of prior legal administrative, legal secretarial, or paralegal experience
  • Experience supporting corporate law matters, with familiarity with corporate governance
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, files, and attorney assignments
  • Professional communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with clients, attorneys, inventors, foreign associates, and vendors
  • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to assist other legal administrative professionals as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting transactional legal work in a law firm or corporate legal environment
