About The Position

Applications are accepted electronically ONLY at www.cu.edu/cu-careers. This posting will establish and maintain a pool of part-time lecturers with experience teaching history courses. This position will be supervised by the History department chair. The History Department, located in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, has 15 rostered faculty, including 11 tenured or tenure-track faculty members. We are committed to inclusive excellence in our teaching, mentoring, and programming. The department is dedicated to increasing the diversity of our community and our curriculum.

Requirements

  • M.A. in History from an accredited university.
  • Experience teaching in-person and/or online courses in US history at the college level as the instructor of record, and/or experience in the public history sector, especially in museums.

Nice To Haves

  • Ph.D. in History from an accredited university
  • Demonstrate knowledge of US or Public History is required, and in addition, and for lecturers teaching Public History, direct experience in the field is preferred.
  • Demonstrate pedagogical innovation.
  • Excellence in teaching and mentoring.
  • Dedication to student success.

Responsibilities
