About The Position

The Department of Applied Physiology & Kinesiology (APK) at the University of Florida (UF) is searching for a full-time, non-tenure track instructional assistant professor (lecturer) to join our team. The anticipated start date is January 1, 2027, though an earlier start may be negotiable. This is a 9-month, 1.0 FTE, non-tenure track faculty position with potential summer employment opportunities. Responsibilities related to this position may include, but are not limited to, designing and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and labs in Applied Human Physiology and Exercise Physiology. Primary duties for this position are instructional, but involvement in service at the department, college, and university levels is also expected.

  • Experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses.
  • Experience developing new courses.
  • Experience integrating experiential learning into the curriculum.

Nice To Haves

  • Academic doctorate degree (PhD, EdD, or DSc) in kinesiology, exercise physiology, or a closely related discipline.
  • Master’s degree in kinesiology, exercise physiology, or a related field and a minimum of three (3) years of college- or university-level teaching experience.
  • Experience teaching high-enrollment courses.
  • Experience leading laboratory instruction.
  • Experience mentoring teaching assistants (TAs).
  • Experience delivering courses in various formats (online, face-to-face, hybrid).

Responsibilities

  • Designing and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and labs in Applied Human Physiology and Exercise Physiology.
  • Involvement in service at the department, college, and university levels.
