About The Position

The Department of Agricultural, Environmental and Development Economics (AEDE) within the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (FAES) seeks a qualified Semester Lecturer to provide instruction for AEDE 3142 during the designated academic semester. The lecturer will be responsible for the effective delivery of course content, including preparation of instructional materials, classroom teaching, student engagement, assessment of student performance, and timely submission of grades. In addition to classroom instruction, part-time lecturers are expected to maintain office hours commensurate with course expectations and clearly communicate office hour availability to students through the course syllabus. Semester responsibilities begin on the first day of classes and continue through the university-established deadline for grade submission.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Agricultural Economics, Economics, Agriculture, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively teach and communicate course material at the collegiate level.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Teach AEDE 3142 in accordance with department and university standards.
  • Prepare and deliver lectures, assignments, examinations, and other course materials.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback.
  • Maintain accurate course records and submit grades by established deadlines.
  • Hold and communicate regular office hours for student support.
  • Respond to student inquiries and foster an inclusive learning environment.
  • Comply with university, college, and departmental policies and procedures.
