About The Position

Applications are being invited for the position of Lecturer in the Department of Plant Pathology in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences at The Ohio State University. This is a one semester position with responsibilities for (100%) teaching. The Department of Plant Pathology at The Ohio State University invites applications for a lecturer with training in Mycology and Psychedelic Studies to support its growing Mycology education programs. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in introductory/ethno mycology, general mycology, field mycology, and psychedelic studies or related courses. Candidates with experience in mushroom cultivation, fungal ecology and evolution, and plant pathology are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Mycology, Plant Pathology, Ecology, or a closely related field.
  • Research experience in Mycology
  • Experience in the field of Psychedelic Studies through publication and/or scientific/public presentations.
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring students.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching (100%)
  • Teach current courses in the mycology curriculum
  • Promote interest mycological studies and careers through engaging lectures and student-centered learning.
  • Coordinate inspiring guest-lectures that enhance learning objectives
  • Provide guidance on educational and career paths for students interested in mycology and psychedelic programs and careers.
