About The Position

The Department of Recording Industry at Middle Tennessee State University is seeking applicants for a full-time, temporary (non-tenurable) faculty position at the rank of lecturer. This is a one-year appointment that may be renewed annually based on funding, need, and performance. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in music business, covering topics such as a survey of the recording industry, marketing, copyright, and live entertainment.

Requirements

  • A master's degree in recording industry, music, business administration, or a closely related field, OR a bachelor's degree in recording industry, music, business administration, or a closely related field with two (2) years of full-time recording industry professional work experience by the appointment date.

  • Experience with curriculum development.
  • Evidence of strong industry relationships.
  • Proficiency with presentation technology and online/remote course delivery tools.
