About The Position

The UW-River Falls College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences (CAFES) maintains a pool of qualified candidates from which part-time staff may be drawn to fill vacancies on a temporary basis in various departments and disciplines. Successful applicants become members of a pool of temporary instructional academic staff eligible to teach, based upon the needs of the department, funding and availability of the prospective staff member. Lecturers may be hired in the following areas: Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Education, Animal and Food Science, Engineering and Engineering Technology, Plant and Earth Science.

Requirements

  • Teaching experience in area of expertise
  • Master's or terminal degree in related discipline is required
  • Resume (or curriculum vitae)
  • Letter of interest specifying qualifications and experience (cover letter)
  • Unofficial transcripts of highest degree earned
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain work authorization throughout the employment term.
  • Employment will require a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional qualifications may be required dependent on the department or area
  • Strong communication skills: listening, speaking, and writing (including proofreading and editing)
  • Teaching experience at a college level

Responsibilities

  • Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations
  • Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
  • Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
