About The Position
The Department of Sociology and Criminology & Justice Studies at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2026 to teach SOC 320: Sociological Theory. This course explores the nature of theory in sociology and analyzes selected social theorists. The position is for the Fall 2026 semester, with classes scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. to 9:50 a.m. The modality is in-person. Salary is commensurate with credential and experience. Working in the State of California is a condition of employment.
Requirements
- A master's degree in the area of instruction or a closely related field.
- Must be able to work in the State of California.
Nice To Haves
- A doctorate or terminal degree in the area of instruction or a closely related field.
- Higher education experience teaching Sociology and/or Criminology & Justice Studies.
- Demonstrated intercultural competence.
- Commitment to serving the campus community related to teaching and service.
