About The Position

This posting is for a Regular Part-Time Professor position to teach Auditing Theory (ADM3349A) during the Fall 2026 semester at the Telfer School of Management. The course covers the definition of auditing, management assertions, audit objectives, evidence, materiality, risk, internal control, audit planning, and reporting as applied to financial statements. It also addresses professional ethics, legal liability, and auditor responsibilities to society. The teaching method will be delivered in person, but may change due to health measures or other reasons. The academic year runs from September 1 to August 31.

Requirements

  • MBA or Master's degree (Ph.D. preferred) in the area of auditing theory.
  • Recent professional experience in auditing.
  • Familiarity with CAS and IAS.
  • Teaching experience, preferably in the area of auditing.
  • Professional accounting designation (CA, CGA, or CMA).
  • Competence in second language: Passive.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Auditing Theory (ADM3349A) during the Fall 2026 semester.
  • Address concepts of management assertions, audit objectives, evidence, materiality and risk, internal control, audit planning, and reporting as applied to financial statements.
  • Cover professional ethics, legal liability, and the responsibilities of auditors to society.
  • Deliver instruction in person, with potential for changes based on health measures or other reasons.
  • Complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.
