About The Position

The Department of Economics at California State University Bakersfield accepts applications on an ongoing basis for our pool of part-time lecturers. Applicant pools are used to fill short-term temporary Lecturer positions across our campus with the possibility of rehiring. Appointments may last from one day to a whole semester. This applicant pool may be used to fill vacant positions on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year. Applications in this pool ad will only be good for the current academic year. This pool will be closed effective May 31st, 2027. If you wish to be considered for the next academic year, you will need to apply to the new pool as it becomes available by June 15th, 2027.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in economics or related field required from an accredited university
  • University-level teaching experience
  • Applicants must show evidence of continuous employment in a field related to the course they are teaching
  • Applicants are expected to meet CSUB’s faculty qualification standards for AACSB accreditation, which may include engagement in scholarly activities and/or practice related to their field
  • US residence and proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctorate in economics or related field
  • Experience in teaching in higher education with evidence of excellence in teaching
  • Relevant work experience and professional capabilities

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in economics.
  • Meet CSUB's faculty qualification standards for AACSB accreditation, which may include engagement in scholarly activities and/or practice related to their field.
