About The Position

The Department of Mathematics in the College of Letters and Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks a one-year full-time Academic Staff Lecturer in Mathematics, starting Fall 2026 for the 2026-27 academic year. Teaching assignments will be primarily courses below the calculus level, including remedial and co-requisite support courses. This will be a 9-month fixed-term appointment. Full-time teaching responsibility consists of teaching twenty-seven credits of undergraduate mathematics courses per year. Instructors in the Department of Mathematics at UW-W are expected to teach in person and participate in professional developmental activities.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Mathematics or in a related field.
  • 18 graduate credit hours in mathematics.
  • Ability to interact respectfully with people with diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds
  • Willingness and ability to be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training and drills

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
  • Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
  • Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations
