About The Position

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is seeking an Adjunct Faculty to conduct independent research for the Mathematics department-related courses. This position will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following job duties: providing mentoring support for students, assessing student-submitted work products, and following course objectives and syllabi preparation for the courses. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Mathematics or a related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • At least 3 years of work experience in Mathematics and Statistics

Responsibilities

  • Conducting independent research aligned with the faculty member’s academic discipline and future tenure-track role
  • Developing or refining research questions, methods, literature reviews, datasets, models, or theoretical frameworks
  • Preparing research materials, manuscripts, presentations, grant-related documents, or other scholarly products
  • Collaborating with departmental faculty, students, or research partners as appropriate
  • Completing onboarding, compliance, training, or other university requirements necessary to support research activity
  • Supporting the development of future research, teaching, or student-engagement activities connected to the upcoming faculty appointment
  • Providing mentoring support for students
  • Assessing student-submitted work products
  • Following course objectives and syllabi preparation for the courses
