About The Position

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona invites applications for Part-Time Lecturer positions in the department of Mathematics and Statistics. The university is one of three polytechnic universities in the 22-campus California State University system and is known for its learn-by-doing approach and Teacher Scholar Model. The College of Science's mission is to educate, mentor, and inspire students through scientific inquiry and hands-on learning, offering various undergraduate and master's degrees. The Department of Mathematics and Statistics has over 29 full-time faculty and offers bachelor's and master's programs, serving over 5,000 students each semester. The department seeks faculty who can thrive in a diverse environment and contribute meaningfully to enhancing a culturally diverse community. The temporary faculty pool is continuously open, and positions are filled as needed based on student enrollment and funding. Candidates may need to be available to teach on short notice during Fall, Spring, or Summer Sessions.

Requirements

  • A master's or doctoral degree in mathematics, statistics or a closely related field.
  • Qualifying degree must be completed by August 1, 2025.
  • Evidence demonstrating recent teaching excellence must be provided in your application.

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned division courses in the department’s curriculum and serve weekly office hours based on assigned teaching unit load.
