About The Position

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics in the College of Sciences is accepting applications for their part-time lecturer pool for the 2026-2027 academic year. They welcome applications from prospective temporary faculty with expertise or experience in Mathematics, Statistics, and Mathematics Education (including mathematics for prospective elementary teachers). Temporary appointments may be either full- or part-time. Appointments from the part-time pool are often made just prior to the start of the academic term, requiring applicants to be available on very short notice. The Fall term begins mid-August and ends late-December; the Spring term begins mid-January and ends mid-May. Opportunities for teaching during the Summer Sessions may also be available. Initial appointments are typically for one semester or one academic year, with renewals contingent on satisfactory evaluations and continuing availability of work. Applications will remain in the applicant pool during the academic year applied for.

Requirements

  • Graduate degree in mathematics, statistics, mathematics education or closely related fields
  • University teaching experience
  • Demonstrated currency in subject matter
  • Terminal degree in mathematics education (for Calculus Coordination and Vertically Integrated Student Success roles)
  • Demonstrated currency in subject matter and student success (for Calculus Coordination and Vertically Integrated Student Success roles)

Nice To Haves

  • PhD preferred (for terminal degree in mathematics education)
  • 3 years preferred (for university teaching experience in Calculus Coordination and Vertically Integrated Student Success roles)
