About The Position

The Leasing Consultant provides tours, completes the leasing process with prospective residents, executes marketing strategies for the community, and maintains positive resident relations. The role includes interviewing prospective residents, showing available apartments, processing applications and lease paperwork, supporting move-ins and renewals, and responding to residents’ needs. The position also contributes to community marketing and resident events while following company policies, including safety and Fair Housing requirements.

Requirements

Up to one year of related experience or training; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable.
Excellent verbal and written communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills.
A valid driver’s license and automobile insurance may be required.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience as a leasing professional.
Experience with virtual and in-person community tours.
Working knowledge of property management platforms such as Yardi, Entrata, Yieldstar, or CRM.
Marketing skills and the ability to execute a property marketing plan through outside marketing, social media, and resident functions.
Familiarity with the local market.

Responsibilities

Interview prospective residents and record information to determine their needs and qualifications.
Show prospective residents model and vacant apartments and discuss room sizes and layouts, available amenities, and lease terms.
Follow up consistently with prospects.
Process applications for approval in compliance with company policies and procedures.
Process lease renewals as needed.
Schedule move-ins and complete lease paperwork with prospective residents.
Inspect apartments before move-in to confirm they are ready.
Follow up with new residents after move-in.
Periodically inspect premises and arrange necessary maintenance.
Plan and coordinate resident events.
Handle resident requests and complaints courteously and efficiently.
Assist with marketing duties, including preparing market surveys.
Assist with sending resident notices.
Adhere to company policies, including safety and Fair Housing requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
