About The Position

The Learning & Development Manager will be responsible for designing, leading, and managing learning and development initiatives specifically for legal secretaries and administrative professionals. This role involves assessing training needs, creating and delivering onboarding and upskilling programs, and developing content for various firm systems and processes. The manager will collaborate with various departments to align learning programs with strategic goals and will track and evaluate program effectiveness. Additionally, the role includes supporting a high-performance culture through coaching and development plans for administrative staff.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in learning and development, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Proven success designing and delivering training programs for administrative or legal support teams.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design best practices.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments and levels.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with LMS platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, and virtual training tools (Zoom, Teams, etc.).
  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Responsibilities

  • Design, lead, and manage learning and development initiatives for legal secretaries and administrative professionals.
  • Assess training needs through surveys, interviews, and performance reviews to identify skill gaps and opportunities.
  • Create and deliver onboarding and upskilling programs that support professional growth, efficiency, and service excellence.
  • Develop and maintain training content for key software platforms, workflow systems, and firm processes.
  • Partner with HR, IT, and practice leadership to align learning programs with strategic objectives and evolving firm needs.
  • Track learning outcomes, evaluate program effectiveness, and continuously enhance offerings based on feedback and business priorities.
  • Support a high-performance culture by coaching administrative staff and recommending individualized development plans.
