About The Position

Massanutten Resort is hiring a seasonal Learning Center Instructor to teach snow sports skills to children or adults, starting with basic skills. The role requires good people skills, excellent communication, and the ability to lead individuals and small groups. No teaching experience is required. Instructors set their individual schedules at the start of each season; schedule adjustments must be approved by management. Hours vary by day and evening, with approximately 6 to 10 hours per week.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old, unless the applicant has prior experience working at the Ski School Learning Center, in which case applicants may apply at age 17.
• Good people skills and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to lead individuals and small groups.
• Ability to ski or ride at a basic and safe level.

• Follow the guide of Safety, Fun Learning, in that order, in all lessons with guests.

Responsibilities

• Teach snow sports skills to children or adults, beginning at a basic level.
• Demonstrate safety first in all aspects of lessons and personal skiing or riding.
• Organize and structure lessons to support experience-based outcomes.
• Maintain a personal lesson record and accurate payroll information.
• Follow PSIA/AASI Teaching and Coaching concepts.
• Ensure personal equipment is functioning safely.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
