About The Position

Junior Instructors assist Senior Instructors with educating children enrolled in Group Lessons. They need excellent communication skills, a genuine desire to help guests of all ages learn about snow sports, the ability to safely ski or snowboard down a beginner slope, and an enjoyment of working with children on snow. The role is seasonal, with a typical schedule that varies and includes weekends, holidays, and days when public schools are closed. Hours vary, with approximately 6 to 7 hours a week. Compensation is $13.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Ability to ski and/or snowboard at a beginning level or above.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Genuine desire to help guests of all ages learn about snow sports.
• Ability to safely ski or snowboard down a beginner slope.
• Enjoy working with children on snow.

Nice To Haves

• Comfort working with children and talking with parents about children's progress and suggestions for continued improvement.

Responsibilities

• Assist a Senior Instructor in organizing and educating children and keeping them safe.
• Assist with setting up and taking down terrain props used for the day.
• Assist in the Rental Department with fitting boots and helmets when not needed during lesson times.
• Learn to set rental ski bindings (ages 16–17 only).
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
