About The Position

The Seasonal Part Time Lead supports store leadership and daily store operations at Five Below. The role focuses on delivering a positive customer experience, guiding and training associates, assisting with merchandise and store operations, and helping drive sales while controlling expenses. The Lead may act as Manager on Duty and may manage store opening or closing processes when needed. This position requires frequent interaction with customers and coworkers, use of store communication and sales devices, merchandise handling, and physical activity throughout the store. The schedule is flexible to meet business needs and may include day, evening, weekend, and overnight shifts, as well as travel when required.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Minimum of 1 year of management experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multitask.
Creative thinking.
Ability to maintain composure under pressure.
Ability to work a flexible schedule that meets business needs, including day, evening, weekend, and potentially overnight shifts, and travel as required.
Ability to identify and understand email and printed instructions regarding merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures.
Ability to remain in a stationary, upright position for 80% of the time.
Ability to frequently operate a cash register, computer, hand-held device, phone, walkie, and mobile devices.
Ability to frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 pounds and place or remove merchandise at heights of 5–10 feet.
Ability to frequently ascend and descend ladders to retrieve and put away stock.
Ability to frequently kneel, bend, twist, and stoop, including in the stock room and on the sales floor.
Ability to frequently communicate and exchange accurate information with customers, managers, and coworkers, in person and by telephone.
Ability to frequently move across the sales floor and between the sales floor and stock room.

Responsibilities

Ensure crew members wow customers through personal contact.
Train the crew on the B.E.S.T. customer service experience and help ensure fast, friendly checkout.
Help oversee daily activities of store associates, ensuring effective performance and excellent customer service.
Assist with receiving, unpacking, and organizing new stock so merchandise can be placed efficiently on the sales floor.
Act as Manager on Duty when needed, taking responsibility for store operations, staff management, customer service, and urgent issues.
Occasionally manage store opening or closing, including securing cash, locking doors, setting alarms, and preparing for daily operations.
Support associate onboarding and ongoing training in store policies, product knowledge, and operational procedures.
Drive store sales and control expenses by seeking ways to improve merchandising, staff performance, and customer service.
Partner with the store leadership team on merchandising procedures and World Recovery.
Perform store maintenance, including taking out garbage, sweeping, cleaning bathrooms, and maintaining the stock room.
