About The Position

Salesforce is seeking an experienced writer passionate about engaging developer audiences and leveraging AI-enabled tools to evolve content creation and delivery. The team is defining the AI-accelerated future of content for Salesforce’s Multi-Framework capabilities and is looking for a strategic leader. As a Lead Developer Documentation Writer, you will be an influential Content Experience (CX) expert, understanding the technical landscape of the cloud in detail and setting the content strategy for broad areas. You will work in a fast-paced, Agile environment, improving existing documentation and reference content while ensuring quality and consistency. You’ll collaborate with a team of developer-doc writers and explore new ways to deliver solutions to customers building apps or complex customizations on the Salesforce Platform.

Requirements

8+ years documenting APIs/SDKs for developer audiences
Deep understanding of how AI agents and LLMs consume documentation.
Solid understanding of at least one programming language; ability to read code accurately
Experience using AI tools (such as Claude Code or Cursor) to streamline content creation and maintenance.
Proven ability to manage broad content strategies while structuring content specifically for AI ingestion, such as markdown optimization or implementing standards that help LLMs and Agents better understand our content.
Track record of leading complex projects and proposing AI-driven solutions to address documentation and customer experience gaps.
A related technical degree required.

Nice To Haves

Experience with object-oriented programming (e.g., Apex or Java) and hands-on coding.
Proficiency with source control software (Git, Perforce) and IDEs like VS Code.
An innovative mindset with a history of process improvements.
Strong XML and Markdown skills.
Experience with testing and evaluation frameworks to review documentation for AI consumers.

Responsibilities

Develop content strategy for broad cloud areas and aligning it with stakeholders in Support, Product Management, and Marketing to meet our business goals.
Use industry-wide experience to serve as a mentor and multiplier for other writers; coordinating work across teams, and sharing constructive feedback to elevate our collective impact.
Contribute directly to product strategy as we evolve the AI experience. Create clear plans for in-product guidance and reference content.
Grasp the details of our component frameworks, security, and tooling to support developers building on the Salesforce Platform.
Actively share ideas to improve the customer experience and handle diverse viewpoints with professional maturity.
