About The Position

Columbia Academy Thunder Hill is seeking a Lead Teacher for its preschool program. The teacher will develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum, plan engaging activities that support children’s cognitive, social, and emotional development, and assess and document student progress. The role also involves helping lead innovative learning activities, ensuring children’s safety and well-being, monitoring development, and creating a harmonious environment for children and fellow teachers. Columbia Academy offers educators a supportive work environment, resources to create a positive learning environment, education incentives, and career development programs. The position includes a $1,000 hiring bonus. Pay is $19.00–$21.00 per hour. The work schedule is based on business needs, during operating hours of Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 6 PM.

Requirements

Ability to work during operating hours Monday through Friday, 7 AM–6 PM; schedule is based on business needs.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
45 hours of Child Growth and Development training.
45 hours in Preschool Curriculum.
At least one year of experience working with infants in a licensed childcare facility or 30 college credits.
Demonstrated knowledge of stages of social, emotional, and intellectual development.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Commitment to ongoing professional development.
Physical ability to stand, bend, squat, jump, dance, walk, run, reach, carry, and lift 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development or a related field (preferred).
