Child Care Lead Teacher Preschool
About The Position
BrightPath Kids is hiring a full-time Lead Teacher for a preschool role at its Farmington, Connecticut center. The position works 9:00 AM–6:00 PM as a closer and pays $18.00–$20.50 per hour. The Lead Teacher works alongside teachers and families to provide a home-away-from-home environment for children in accordance with NAEYC guidelines. The role supports children ages 6 weeks to 12 years in one assigned classroom, creating developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities while maintaining a safe, welcoming, clean environment. The teacher also partners with families and communicates with parents or guardians about each child.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, Head Teacher certification, 12 credits in Early Childhood Education courses, or a bachelor's degree.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain organized.
- Ability to work within regular operating hours.
- Must meet state criteria for child care employment.
Nice To Haves
- Two or more years of experience in a licensed child care facility.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks–12 years in one assigned classroom.
- Create developmentally appropriate curriculum according to NAEYC standards.
- Develop programs and activities based on children’s interests and learning styles.
- Maintain a warm, safe, and clean environment where children can grow and explore.
- Partner with families to develop plans for the best care and education for their children.
