About The Position

The Lead for Sam’s Cafe Back of House is responsible for maintaining high standards of food safety, quality, and cleanliness in accordance with company policies. This role oversees food preparation, inventory management, and administrative tasks while ensuring associates adhere to sanitation and safety guidelines. The position requires effective supervision, training, and development of team members to deliver consistent service and operational excellence. The Lead fosters strong communication, accountability, and continuous improvement to support business goals and create a positive work environment aligned with Walmart’s values and standards. The Sam’s Cafe Back of House team operates in a dynamic environment focused on delivering quality guest experiences through a scratch kitchen approach. Team members work collaboratively to uphold food safety, sanitation, and operational standards while efficiently managing kitchen tasks and inventory. Requirements

  • 2 years' experience in large-scale food production or related experience.
  • 2 years' of supervisory experience.
  • 1 year’s experience of Microsoft Office (for example, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Obtain certified ServSafe Food Handler or related food safety certification within 45 days of hire

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cafe safety by ensuring product freshness, cleanliness, and adherence to sanitation guidelines.
  • Train and instruct associates on food preparation, quality standards, and safety protocols.
  • Manage food and equipment inventories, including ordering, receiving, storing, and rotating products.
  • Oversee administrative tasks such as scheduling, attendance tracking, and deposit preparation.
  • Lead daily team meetings, monitor food stations, and ensure consistent portion control and customer service.
  • Develop and support associates through coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluations.
  • Promote compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and operational procedures.
