About The Position

As a Lead Program Counselor (DSP), you will support individuals with developmental and physical disabilities in a residential group home setting. You will support the hiring manager and serve as a role model for fellow staff, helping individuals live safe, fulfilling lives while building trusting relationships that encourage independence and personal choice. The work includes assisting with daily living skills, supporting medical needs, following individualized plans, encouraging community involvement, and collaborating with a supportive team. Overnight safety checks apply to overnight staff; the listed schedule is Tuesday through Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (40 hours).

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Connecticut Driver’s License.
• Ability to obtain DDS Medication Certification, CPR, and First Aid.
• One year of residential experience.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with developmental and physical disabilities in a residential group home setting.

• Support medical needs and appointments.
• Follow individualized support and behavior plans.
• Encourage community involvement and social engagement.
• Complete routine overnight safety checks when working overnight shifts.
