About The Position

Marrakech is hiring a Lead Program Counselor (Direct Support Professional) in West Haven, Connecticut. The role supports people with developmental and physical disabilities in a residential group home setting. The counselor supports the hiring manager and serves as a role model for fellow staff, helping individuals live safe, fulfilling lives through trusting relationships that encourage independence and personal choice. Marrakech provides person-centered support and advocacy focused on quality of life, dignity, respect, and meaningful connection. The schedule is Tuesday through Friday, 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., for 40 hours per week. Pay is $20.85 per hour, with an additional $0.50 per hour for employees with DDS Medication Certification. Certification may be obtained after hire.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid Connecticut driver’s license.
Ability to obtain DDS Medication Certification, CPR, and First Aid.
One year of residential experience.
Reliable and compassionate, with an interest in leadership and career growth.

Responsibilities

Assist with daily living skills, including personal care, meals, and routines.
Support medical needs and appointments.
Follow individualized support and behavior plans.
Encourage community involvement and social engagement.
Complete routine overnight safety checks for overnight staff.
Work collaboratively as part of a supportive team.
Support the hiring manager and act as a role model for fellow staff.
