About The Position

Marrakech is hiring a Lead Program Counselor (DSP) to support individuals with developmental and physical disabilities in a residential group home setting. The role supports the hiring manager and serves as a role model for fellow staff. The Lead Program Counselor helps individuals live safe, fulfilling lives while building trusting relationships that encourage independence and personal choice.

Marrakech provides person-centered support and advocacy to enhance quality of life and promote independence for individuals with and without disabilities, with dignity, respect, and meaningful connection at the center. The organization has supported more than 1,000 individuals across Connecticut each year for over 50 years. Paid training and career growth are offered. The position pays $20.85 per hour, with an additional $0.50 per hour for DDS Medication Certification; certification may be obtained after hire.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Connecticut driver’s license.
• Ability to obtain DDS Medication Certification, CPR, and First Aid.
• One year of residential experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living skills, including personal care, meals, and routines.
• Support medical needs and appointments.
• Follow individualized support and behavior plans.
• Encourage community involvement and social engagement.
• Complete routine overnight safety checks when assigned to overnight staff.
• Work collaboratively as part of a compassionate, supportive team.
• Support the hiring manager and act as a role model for fellow staff.
