Lead Product Manager
About The Position
Samsara is hiring a Lead Product Manager to help build AI products for physical operations. The company’s Connected Operations Cloud connects vehicles, equipment, sites, and people, combining real-world data, embedded hardware, and AI to help customers improve their operations. Product managers join Samsara first and are matched with the team and problem where they can have the greatest impact; problem spaces evolve over time. This is a remote role open to candidates residing in the United States. The role involves discovering important customer problems, shaping product direction, building and testing AI-enabled products, and delivering solutions across hardware, software, and AI teams. The Product Manager owns outcomes end to end, with success measured by customer impact and revenue. The position offers an annual base salary range of $130,602–$219,500, depending in part on work location and job-related qualifications. It is also eligible for an initial RSU grant with no vesting cliff and ongoing performance-tied refresh opportunities, subject to plan terms. Samsara describes its total rewards as including base compensation, performance-based bonus or variable pay, and equity for eligible roles, alongside a flexible remote model, a professional development stipend, and health and parental leave plans.
Requirements
- Have shipped products that customers pay for and be able to demonstrate, with numbers, the impact personally driven.
- Use AI tools daily and be enthusiastic about how new models change what is possible.
- Identify problems independently and take full ownership of outcomes.
- Have strong commercial instincts and an interest in understanding how the product is sold.
- Be able to advocate with conviction while remaining open to changing perspective when others have a better one.
Responsibilities
- Spend time in the field with customers to identify the problems that matter most and establish a strong perspective on what to build.
- Use AI tools to prototype, test, and ship quickly, while exploring the capabilities of newer models.
- Work across hardware, software, and AI teams to ship products customers pay for.
- Own product outcomes end to end, measured by customer impact and revenue.
