About The Position

The Lead Prep Cook is responsible for overseeing the prep cook team, providing technical direction on cooking techniques and kitchen operations, and leading in the preparation and cooking of food to ensure quality appearance and taste. This role also involves maintaining a clean and safe work environment, adhering to safety procedures, and fostering positive relationships with guests and employees. The Lead Prep Cook must be alert to restaurant operations and comply with relevant regulations and policies.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated cooking experience, preferably within a hospitality, restaurant or gaming environment.
  • Demonstrated experience performing within specific deadlines or under pressure.
  • Demonstrated experience problem solving, organizing, and prioritizing work.
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent in education and experience.
  • Two (2) or more years of recent and related cooking experience, preferably within a hospitality, restaurant, or gaming environment.
  • One (1) or more years of experience leading a cooking team or providing guidance to co-workers on cooking operations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, complying with safety procedures and using safety equipment.
  • Report to work as scheduled, on time, and ready to work.
  • Oversee the prep cook team and provide technical directions on cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
  • Lead in the preparation and cooking of food, ensuring quality appearance and taste, and preparing meals promptly.
  • Maintain a clean and well-organized kitchen.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance positive relations with guests and employees.
  • Wear and maintain uniforms properly, including nametag and gaming license if applicable.
  • Alert supervisor of concerns regarding food quality, selection, and variety.
  • Perform duties in compliance with the Colorado Limited Gaming Act, internal policies, and security procedures.
  • Maintain alertness for all responsibilities and general awareness of restaurant operations.
  • Receive training, technical direction, and guidance from the Restaurant Manager.
  • Perform other duties, including special projects, as needed and directed.
